Skin Care and Laser Hair Removal
Skin aging is related to environmental factors, genetic makeup, nutrition, and other factors. Excessive sun exposure, pollution, free-radicals and negligence in protecting the skin are contributing factors to developing an aged appearance. As well, as we age, our skin naturally undergoes many changes such as increased laxity, collagen/elastin breakdown, the development of sun spots and devitalized skin.
At Advantage Laser Clinic we use the principles of Traditional Chinese Acupuncture with a contemporary approach. Laser is a modern method of acupuncture therapy or what we call needleless acupuncture facials. The laser converts electrical energy into a form of light energy that is transmitted to the client by means of specially designed probes. Low power lasers do not generate heat, therefore when the laser contacts the skin, the client experiences no warmth or burning.
Cosmetic Acupuncture regenerates and rejuvenates the facial muscles and skin naturally. The laser is applied to specific acupuncture, or energy points, on the face stimulating an increase in blood and lymph circulation to the area. The face receives a flush of blood that nourishes, oxygenates, and moisturizes the skin from inside out. The increased lymph circulation helps remove wastes and toxins, resulting in diminished swelling and puffiness. By nourishing the skin, we are able to diminish the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, sagging jowls and chin, breakouts and dull skin.
Laser therapy penetrates deep into the dermis to promote the growth of new skin cells and speeds up the migration of these cells to the surface of the skin. This process of cell migration normally takes 4 weeks however with laser therapy the new healthy skin cells replace older damaged cells much more rapidly. The result is the appearance of tighter, firmer skin.
We have protocols for eyes, fine lines, crow’s feet, frown lines, breakouts/acne etc. At Advantage Laser Clinic we often combine our needleless acupuncture facials with glycolic peels or microdermabrasion for optimal results. By increasing blood flow, stimulating the facial muscles and exfoliating the skin, we are able to treat multiple skin concerns for an overall radiant complexion. We recommend 10 acupuncture facial sessions 1 week apart for best results.
Laser Acupuncture Facial Effects on the Skin
Theralase laser, applied to specific points on the face and body, revitalizes the skin resulting in visible improvements to a client’s general appearance. It does this by:
Stimulating the production of fibroblasts, the cells responsible for collagen production. The collagen helps fill in wrinkles and fine lines.
Stimulating the production of keratinocytes, new skin cells that give the face a more even, healthy appearance.
Increasing the production of hyaluronic acid by fibroblasts. Hyaluronic acid is a natural substance in the skin that binds water. The increase in HA levels greatly improves the hydration of the skin.
Stimulating the production of nitric oxide, a powerful vasodilator. The improved blood flow helps nourish new skin cells with an improved supply of nutrients. The increased blood flow to the face also produces a more youthful glow.
